Leslie Williams, DVM
Chief of Staff
Ever since she was young, Dr. Leslie Williams has had a deep passion for zoology and medicine. The prospect of working in a diverse range of animal care applications—small-animal, farm and equine work, marine biology, even scientific research or disease prevention—was all the encouragement an impressionable 13-year-old needed to choose the veterinary field!
Dr. Williams was born on a farm in Trinidad, an island just northeast of South America. Her father was a veterinarian for the University of the West Indies’ Departments of Agriculture and Livestock Science, and young Dr. Williams couldn’t help but fall in love with her father’s work. She attended the University of Guelph for both her undergraduate and veterinary degrees, working in Port Hope, Ontario for a few years before entering small-animal practice and opening Armitage Animal Clinic in 1999.
As a veterinarian, Dr. Williams has special interests in internal medicine, pharmacology, and surgery. She is a member of the College of Veterinarians of Ontario and the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association.
When she’s not at the clinic, Dr. Williams relishes family time with her husband John, and their wonderful daughter, Marina. They share their home with an extremely affectionate chocolate Labrador, Sage, and the aloof feline patriarch of the house, Toby. Dr. Williams is a self-proclaimed international news junkie and an avid reader, and she also enjoys classical music, ballet, and theatre.
