Adorable New Year’s Resolutions For Puppies

Happy New Year! Are you starting 2020 out with a new puppy in your household? If so, the next 12 months will be filled with some super cute moments. This is also going to be a big year for your canine buddy. In this article from Armitage Animal Clinic, a local Newmarket, ON vet lists some super cute resolutions for puppies.

Grow

Nutrition will always be important to your dog’s health, but it’s absolutely crucial during that first year. Dogs grow very quickly, and need lots of nourishment to fuel those rapid changes. Give little Fido a high-quality puppy food.

Meet The Doctor

Proper veterinary care will make a huge difference in your dog’s overall health and well-being. To get the little guy started out on the right paw in life, you’ll want to bring him in for his initial exams, vaccinations, and screenings. Microchipping and parasite control should also be on the agenda, along with spay/neuter surgery. You may want to look into our preventative health plans.

Figure Out What’s Wrong With The Cat

Sometimes dogs and cats do become best buds. However, in many other cases, they more or less just learn to tolerate one another, and never stop giving each other the side-eye. Fluffy may not make much sense to Fido. After all, she uses a litterbox, hates car rides, and purposely cleans herself.

Catch My Tail

Little Fido may never catch his tail, and he may largely have abandoned this doggy quest by the time 2021 rolls around. However, you’ll likely be able to giggle at your pup’s adorable attempts to make this goal.

Learn To Be A Good Boy

One thing that is truly special about dogs is the fact that they really like to please their humans. Little Fido has a lot to learn this year! In addition to crate training and housebreaking, your pooch will need to learn basic doggy petiquette.

Find My Favorite Food

This one can be a dangerous quest for your canine pal. Dogs tend to learn about things by, well, trying to eat them. Do some puppyproofing, and make sure your home is safe for your pooch.
